The motor does not require any specific care, nevertheless it still needs some upkeep in order to work properly, such as:

• Replace the tape once it is worn out or damaged. To replace it you will need a hair dryer to warm the adhesive tape before removing it from the motor.
• If you wish to clean your motor from dirt or dust, we strongly advise you against using a high-pressure cleaner. Instead, use a damp sponge.

The motor is adjustable to all bikes (road bikes, city bikes…). Nevertheless, we do not recommend its use on mountain bikes due to the spiked tires. Indeed, working with spiked tires will make the motor noisier, increase its wear as well as the wheel’s wear, and decrease its efficiency.

Absolutely yes! Our product is suitable for all wheel sizes. It will work just as well on a junior (child) wheel as on any other wheel.

The Motor Kit consists of:

If the motor is well maintained and not damaged, it does not need to be changed. The product is designed to be long-lasting and reliable—it does not wear.

Best suited for the Gboost system are tires with a flat, even running surface in the center. Typical mountain bike tires are not recommended since they generate vibrations and noise. We recommend switching to tire types as shown below:

By the way, mountain bike tires have higher rolling resistance than street or city tires. You will need more energy to reach the same distance with a mountain bike tire than with a city tire—your pedelec runs less far on the same battery.

Tire wear depends first and foremost on tire quality. However, because the motor contacts the rear wheel directly, it may accelerate wear (by 30% to 50%). Replacement frequency depends on wheel quality, wear level, and usage intensity.

• 25 km/h (± 10%) for the Gold
• 36 km/h (or 20 mph – USA) for the Platinum

Yes, it is possible to retain energy while braking; however, the amount is quite minimal and does not significantly affect range.

Yes, the motor and battery are waterproof. You can ride your bicycle in any weather.

Battery life depends on many factors (outdoor temperature, terrain, assistance level). As an example, at maximum capacity (250 W uphill), the battery lasts about 1 hour (~30 km); on flat roads at level 1 assistance, you can go up to 100 km.

If your battery is very low, charging time is about 3–5 hours:

• Gold: 3 h 10 min
• Platinum: 4 h 48 min

The app helps you adjust assistance settings (speed, power) on your rides. It also provides error codes and enables software upgrades.
